I am a painter and printmaker inspired by the undulating landscape and sandstone buildings of Rutland.

About my paintings

Paintings often begin as pencil and watercolour sketches, capturing elements of the scene outdoors before evolving into larger works in my studio. While I occasionally work with oil paints, I more frequently explore various mixed media techniques, combining oil pastels, inks and fluid acrylics for a rich textured feel.

About my linocuts

A selection of lino prints, carved and printed by hand in my Rutland home studio.

Lino cut is a relief printmaking technique that involves carving a design into lino or vinyl using u or v-shaped gouges. Each colour in the image is achieved by printing from a different carved lino block and the picture is then built up in layers.

About my Giclèe

A selection of my work is available as giclée prints.

A giclée print is a high quantity digital reproduction of an artwork onto archival-quality paper, using an ink jet printer.

If you would like a print in a different size to those quoted, or you need a print for a specific date, please do get in contact at tina@tinafirkins.co.uk
